Is Solar Energy Right for You?

Energy direct from the Sun
A Solar power system uses the suns light and transforms it into a source of energy.
Solar power is now a suitable alternative to more conventional energy sources in remoter areas. It has even been utilised out in space. Solar power systems are used in a variety of ways including homes, lighting, architectural projects, and cooking. Because of the dramatic rise in the cost of fossil fuels, solar energy has become more popular. Solar panels are designed to collect and channel the power from the sun.
Solar enegy obtained by the solar panels is then changed into useable power. This can be done by a process called solar thermal application. It uses the sun’s energy to heat air or liquids directly. The process of photoelectric application involves the use of photovoltaic cells to change the energy into electricity.
As it is poses no harm to the environment, solar power is really a true green enrgy. However, other threats to the environment may affect the ability to use solar power system in the future. Pollution has caused global dimming. It reduces the amount of sunlight that reaches the earth’s surface. A recent concern is global dimming, an effect of pollution that is allowing less sunlight to reach the Earth’s surface. Global dimming is caused by pollution particles and global warming.
The Solar Electric Power Association is an organization of electric utility companies and the solar industry. They teamed up to find the answers to our energy demands. SEPA is a group of more than one hundred companies. Fifty are utility companies, twenty five are solar companies, and the rest are various types of businesses. They discuss various policies and technologies relating to their area of expertise along with sharing experiences and knowledge about solar programs.
Is solar energy the right source? There are clear benefits to using a safe and abundant solar energy over depleting fossil fuels. Solar energy provides a free power source once installed. It can be used in areas where electricity can’t be set up easily. The sun is not an energy source that is going to become depleted for millions of years. A disadvantage is that it will not function at night. It is very expensive to create solar power stations to store energy.
Clearly there are areas in the world where solar power and energy unfortunately are unavailable due to climate restrictions and lack of sunlight.
